Will Samsung Announce the Galaxy Note 2 on August 15th?

Well no sooner has the whole Samsung Galaxy S3 spectacle started to slow down do we then turn our attentions to Samsung’s other Android sporting smartphone beast, the Samsung Galaxy Note, or in this case, the follow-up Galaxy Note 2.

BGR.com has reported that Samsung will be announcing the follow-up Note device on August the 15th at an official Samsung press conference, according to one of its sources.

Not a lot is known regarding the Galaxy Note II, but plenty has been rumoured. Currently it looks like the device will have a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen, and a  1.4 or 1.6Ghz Exynos 4412 quad-core chip.

Currently thoughts are that the Android smartphone will also come with the 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich version of the software and not the forthcoming Jelly Bean 4.1, but this could possibly change closer to the date with either built in Jelly Bean or a later upgrade to the latest Android OS.

If the Galaxy Note is received anywhere near as well as its smaller cousin, the Galaxy SIII, then Samsung can expect another good end to the year.

Samsung and Google announced today that the Galaxy S3 has sold 10 million handsets since its release 2 months ago, and with the previous Galaxy Note still popular we can see a lot of people flocking to the smartphone/tablet hybrid.
