Gulp! Is the world’s largest stop-motion video and it was all shot on a Nokia N8 smartphone, well, three of them. The video you’ll see below is currently the top contender for cool video of the day!
The entire video was shot on a South Wales beach using three Nokia N8 smartphones and nothing else, proving that while Nokia’s Symbian ship may be sinking, they still know how to make an incredibly good camera phone.
The N8’s 12-megapixel sensor was the shooter of choice for this epic video that tells the tale of a fisherman going about his daily catch when he gets swallowed by a monster fish. Thankfully our chum is saved from the belly of the beast and all is well. The video was created by Sumo Studios at Aardman Animation, the company famous for the Wallace and Gromit series.
You’ll see above how the video was filmed – N8 smartphones were clamped to a bar and hoisted way up high using a crane, while each scene of the video was created on the beach below and snapped individually by the 12-megapixel camera and Carl Zeiss optics. The whole scene spanned 11,000 feet!
Check out the video below and let us know what you think. We’re sure you’ll agree it’s pretty awesome.
