The LG Optimus 3D, to give its proper accolade – that’s the world’s first 3D smartphone – will be landing in the United Kingdom on July 7th with the first stores in line for a “joint exclusive” launch being Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy.
Packing Google’s Android 2.2 Froyo on a highly-powerful 1GHz dual-core OMAP4 processor and WVGA display, the Optimus 3D comes with twin 5MP cameras for HD recording and 8GB memory and 4GB DDR2.
LG’s first 3D handset was launched at the MWC back in February, and delivers a glasses-free 3D experience on an adjustable 4.3” screen – 3D is key, but if you don’t neccessarily want it you can turn it off at the press of a switch.
Carphone Warehouse are planning to give you the Optimus 3D free-of-charge through a £35-per-month contract with preorders taken from today.
