It seems that HP don’t want to go the way Apple’s iPad has where Facebook is concerned, as recent screenshots show that a dedicated Facebook app for the HP TouchPad is in the works.
We recently heard that the official Facebook app for iPad is almost ready#mce_temp_url#; some 14 months after the original iPad first went on sale. But now, legit screenshots of a dedicated Facebook app running on the soon to be released HP TouchPad have leaked online, making us think HP might beat Apple to the punch.
The screenshots, courtesy of Pre Central, show Profile pages, Photo Albums, the Wall and Homescreen views. It looks pretty neat, and everything certainly seems to be finished in the typical WebOS style.
It’s been confirmed by Facebook themselves that they didn’t make this app, rather that HP have been hard at work themselves creating the app – which will be integrated within the WebOS 3.0 operating system of the tablet.
So there we have it, yet another tablet has a Facebook app before the iPad does. Will Apple ever bring an official Facebook app to the iPad? Let us know what you think by leaving a comment below, or on our Facebook page
The HP TouchPad is up for pre-order in the UK now.
