Good news for anyone who has a HTC Desire Z, as although you may have originally thought you had been left out of the party when it was announced that the Desire would be getting the update, you have no reason to feel down anymore as HTC has started to roll out the much anticipated Gingerbread update to Desire Z handset.
The announcement was made a few days ago, although network carriers have started to confirm their intention of rolling out the update to their customers, with Vodafone Australia being the first.
The update version you should be looking out for is 2.42.861.6, which will give you Android version 2.3.3 along with Sense UI 2.1.
As with all updates that are rolled out it is done gradually so you may not see the update appear on your notification bar straight away, although don’t panic, it will eventually arrive. When it does make sure you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network as it’s quite a big update weighing in at 104MB.
Once you get your hands on the update, remember to send us your thoughts on the new improvement by leaving us your comments below, or if you prefer you can tweet us @Gadget_Helpline.
