HTC have confirmed that their brand new Sense 3.0 User Interface for Android devices will not be compatible with their current range of smartphones, only forthcoming ones.
Sense 3.0 was unveiled this Tuesday alongside HTC’s next flagship Android smartphone, the HTC Sensation. New features within 3.0 include a 360 degree carousel-style menu system, lock screen apps, new widgets and a whole host of other graphical tweaks.
The bad news is that if you’re an owner of the Desire, Desire HD or even the new Desire S, you won’t be able to upgrade HTC Sense to 3.0. Forthcoming Android devices from HTC will be preloaded with the newest version, such as the Sensation, EVO 3D and Flyer Tablet.
What with Android being open-source and having a massive community of dedicated developers and fans, we’re certain there will be ROMs of HTC Sense 3.0 available in the not too distant future, allowing users to install it onto their older HTC devices.
