If you’ve been hoping that your new LG Optimus 3D will be getting the Gingerbread treatment sooner rather than later, I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news for you.
It would seem that the folk over at The Inquirer have managed to talk to some of the LG developers and question them about the Android 2.3 update. They have apparently said that it is due to arrive on the Optimus 3D sometime in October (this year thankfully).
Some users are quite likely to be frustrated by this considering that by then the Gingerbread update will be 10 months old. Although it’s not all bad news as the LG developers have said that the update is worth the wait as it will improve the 3D capabilities of the smartphone quite considerably.
The Gingerbread update will bring all the usual features you would expect along with one new key feature – that is the ability to convert 2D games to 3D (as long as the game supports OpenGL), which is quite impressive I’d say.
So don’t worry, the update is on its way (only three months to go and counting), but in the mean time let us know your thoughts on this by sending us your comments below. Or if you prefer you can tweet us @Gadget_Helpline.
