The 3rd and latest teaser in Sony’s promotion for its S1 and S2 Android Honeycomb tablets has been released. Continuing the domino effect of intriguing visuals and subtle subtexts this one’s all about the media and Sony isn’t shy about showing off that the Sony slabs are “Filled with fun”.
Our familiar porcelain couple (who we met in part one of the “Two Will” series) are seen in front of the S1 which is displaying a Qriocity style interface, featuring a range of icons including “Dance”, “Holiday” and “Relax”. Could this possibly be some kind of customizable media hub?
This starts a chain reaction of events with the pale pair visiting a dance floor and a screening of “The Green Hornet” on the S1 display in front of a crowd of china dolls, as a sign beneath declares “Turn life into cinema”. The chain continues with the S2 upturning to become a dual-screen eReader taking advantage of the S2’s pair of 5.5” displays.
Maybe the most interesting event in the sequence happens next, as we get to see some gameplay on the Sony S2. Crash Bandicoot appears onscreen in action on the top screen and it would appear there are two sets of control buttons seen on either side.
Unfortunately we don’t get to see what’s happening on the second screen, so this is currently left to the imagination. Presumably Crash will be one of a number of PSOne titles available on both tablets, similar to those to have come with Sony Ericsson’s Xperia PLAY – also a Sony Android gadget.
We also don’t get any of the technical specifications behind the tablets, as much as we’re enjoying the artistic series of promos we’d really like to find out what makes the magic!
Check out the latest video for Sony’s S1 and S2 tablets for yourself. These are suggested to be up for pre-order in September.
