With the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play just about making it to the US, and almost ready for release on O2 in the UK, Sony Ericsson sees fit to release a software update to Android 2.3.3.
Recombu reports that both the XPERIA Play and XPERIA Arc will be getting an OTA (Over the Air) Software Update to Android 2.3.3 next week. Asides from the usual improvements with 2.3.3, the updates will bring Sony Ericsson’s own “Facebook inside Xperia” UI for both handsets. As you might guess, Facebook inside Xperia transforms the Android UI into a very Facebook-orientated interface.
Calendar, Contacts and Music apps are just some of the system apps which will be integrated with Facebook thanks to the update. Of course, if you’re not a fan of Facebook this won’t matter a great deal to you, but for those Facebook fanatics out there it should make for a great addition to two already great handsets.
