4oD telly service arrives on iPhone and iPod Touch

Following a reboot to the web-based telly service from UK broadcaster Channel 4, the 4oD service finally touches down on Apple gadgets iPhone and iPod Touch.

Catching up with the Beeb’s rival iPlayer which was launched on the fruity gadgets some time ago (and is now poised for overseas success), the Channel 4 on-demand service will become available from the Apple App Store from today for devices running operating system iOS 4 and above. It’s completely free of charge and delivers the whole range of catch-up and playback programming.

Expect to find all the best shows from the TV and online-based service, meaning app-grabbers can catch up with Hollyoaks on the move, or enjoy some classic Shameless – or perhaps new yank import Beaver Falls? Ok, perhaps not the latter.

Still awaiting an Android invasion for 4oD, but maybe it’s just a matter of time considering the recent demand for on-demand.
