Apples latest technology behemoth the Apple iPad 2 has gone on sale for the first time today in the US. Selling of the tablet began at 4am New York time which is around 9am here in the UK.
The full line-up of the iPad 2 ranges from the Wi-Fi only devices with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB memory which price up as $499, $599 and £699 respectively and the iPad 2’s with Wi-Fi and 3G come in the same memory sizes but this time with an additional $130 for the 3G add on.
The iPad is available across the US in Apple Stores and online as well as through US networks Verzion and AT&T.
Well, according to a report on Bloomberg, the iPad 2 is likely to smash the opening weekend figures of its predecessor with analysts predicting that Apple will shift around 600,000 units – doubling the original iPads sold (300,000ish) in its first 24 hours.
Customers in the UK will have to wait a few weeks however as we are part of the 26 other countries outside of the US who will be getting the iPad 2 on the 25h March.
Currently the iPad 2 is available in the US online and coming with a 3 to 5 days delivery estimate and is also available in black and white.
