HTC announced its first ever tablet device in the form of the 7-inch HTC Flyer at the Mobile World Congress event this February.
We were treated to the low-down on the specifications and some high res images back then, but no pricing or exact release date was given. First out of the blocks to list the device is UK retailer Clove Technology, who have put a £600 price tag on the HTC Flyer, and expect the first batch of stock to arrive mid-April this year. Clove also note that the final price hasn’t yet been confirmed, so there could be some last minute changes. There’s also a Wi-Fi only version of the Flyer available with Clove with a price of £423, though again, prices may change.
The Flyer is the first tablet to feature the ONlive cloud gaming service, a feature HTC are hoping will take on the might of Apple’s App Store games. Despite the smaller screen, a speedy 1.5GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage with SD Card slot will make the Flyer a pretty powerful device. Its screen size will put it into direct competition with Samsung’s Galaxy Tab released last year, though the specs of the HTC Flyer blow it out of the water.
Will you be pre-ordering the HTC Flyer? Are you waiting for the iPad 2, or perhaps the Motorola Xoom or Galaxy Tab 10.1? Let us know by leaving a comment.
