The smartphone camera battle is a strange one. Ever since handsets first started to hit the shelves, manufacturers have been trying to outdo each other’s cameras by slowly ramping up the number of megapixels. The reason that’s strange is that, while 1, 2, 5, 8 or 16 megapixels are any easy thing for Joe Public to grasp, more doesn’t necessarily mean better.
The megapixel count simply refers to resolution, which means that the higher number, the larger you’d be able to have your shots printed without them looking blurry. The factors that really determine image quality are the camera lens and image sensor/processor. There’s no detail on either for this handset, but there is a dual flash, which will help in darker environments.
