It would seem that Nintendo really are gearing up to bring on a new Nintendo Console in the coming months as today Nintendo announced that its original Wii console will be getting a huge £50 price cut.
From the 20th of May Customers will be able to get the motion controlled console for as little as £129.99 down from its £179.99 original RRP.
It would appear that Nintendo are looking to shift excess stock of the console, but we would expect Nintendo to keep running with the Wii for many years to come. With the original Wii being the biggest selling console of all time it will be hard for Ninty to just drop the device all together with it being more likely to keep producing Party/Lifestyle games fro the foreseeable future.
The £129.99 doesn’t just cover the console alones, as customer will get the Wii Console, Wii Sports, Mario Kart and a choice between a Black or White console.
And to top t off Nintendo will be releasing a range of Platinum-esq games titles at a discounted price, so users will be able to buy a group of Nintendo Selects titles at £19 a pop. Games include: Wii Sports, WarioWare: Smooth Moves, Mario Strikers Charged Football, Animal Crossing: Let’s Go to the City and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
So will this bring a new life to the Wii or is it just Nintendo trying to clear some shelves fro something a bit more powerful…?
