Amazon planning TWO Android tablets for release before the end of this year

The rumour mill for the Amazon Android Tablet is really picking up some pace now. The device was first rumoured, then Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos added some substance to the rumour by telling us to “stay tuned” when quizzed on the possibility of an Amazon Tablet.

We’ve now heard word that Amazon are preparing not one but TWO Android powered tablets, and they aim to release both of them before the end of the year. BGR are quoting anonymous sources who have leaked info on the two tablets, one of which will be an “entry level” tablet, and one will be an all-out beast suspected to go into direct competition with the Apple iPad 2, and possibly even the iPad 3 if the specifications are anything to go by.

“Coyote” is the codename for the entry level Amazon tablet, which will run on the current Nvidia Tegra 2 Dual-Core processor. The daddy of the Amazon tablet range is said to be codenamed “Hollywood”, and will utilise a brand new, as yet unreleased, Nvidia processor: The T30 Kal-El Quad-Core processor. That’s right folks, a Quad-Core Android tablet.

That’s all the information we’ve got to bring you today on the Amazon tablets, but stay tuned to our Twitter feed for the latest info.
