  • by

Nokia is heading in with the big guns when it comes to Windows Phone 7, and they are not just intending on releasing one WP7 Mango smartphone, they are planning an army of them.

Speaking of the new Mango software for Windows Phone, Nokia’s official blog has stated “This is the software that will be used on the first Nokia with Windows Phone device, and so should be of keen interest to Nokia-watchers everywhere.”

“We are very excited about our strategic partnership with Microsoft, and Mango is a great milestone for the first Nokia with Windows Phone devices,” Jo Harlow, WVP for Smart Devices at Nokia reckons. “We believe Mango offers developers opportunities to create new mobile experiences leveraging both companies complementary assets while providing consumers with a new choice in mobile.”

The Nokia developer’s forum has stated that help for possible developers is available at the Community Wiki, and the projects site is already being populated.

Nokia is planning on releasing multiple Windows Phone handsets running the Mango software, and are aiming for many different audiences with their first release. Microsoft expects these phones to be of the highest quality as Nokia are pouring all their Smartphone recourses into Windows Phone. Microsoft is keen to push the partnership of Nokia’s legendary handset quality with their new Mango software.
