The Android-enabled Motorola Xoom has been around for 3 months and has been doing well against top rival the iPad 2. Having shown no fear in the face of Apple, it looks as though Motorola are gunning for RIM and their Blackberry Playbook.
Having manned-up to Apple with the Xoom tablet becoming a legit contender to the iPad 2 – Motorola may have sights set on ending playtime for the Blackberry Playbook.
The 7” Blackberry Playbook has since come along and it seems playground bully the Xoom has got RIM’s ticket ready to punch. This swipe at RIM comes with Motorola’s latest promotional push for the 10.1” slab – suggesting playtime is over and proclaiming that their gadget is “the tablet designed for business”.
Straight down to business, the Xoom offers an NVIDIA Tegra 2 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, sync with Microsoft Exchange, webcam for video calling, Google Talk, enhanced attachment support and now running Android 3.1. with additional office-away-from-office goodies such as a dock and Bluetooth connected mouse and QWERTY keyboard.
HTC better watch out with it’s 7″ Flyer tablet also now released, the Motorola Xoom means business!
