We heard about the successor to the popular Blackberry Torch back in January, but since then manufacturer RIM have done a pretty good job of keeping a lid on it. Until now..
Undercover snaps of the front and back of the forthcoming Blackberry Torch 2 have surfaced over at TechnoBuffalo. What we’ve been treated to is a sneak peek at an evaluation unit sent out by RIM to a tester. We can’t see a huge amount from the pictures, but the specification for the Torch is as follows:
- * 1.2GHz processor
* Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE
* Tri-band HSPA 14.4Mbps
* 3.2-inch VGA 640 x 480 capacitive display
* 8GB built-in memory
* 512MB RAM
* Bluetooth 2.1
* GPS
* NFC
* 5-megapixel camera with flash
* Magnetometer
* Accelerometer
* Proximity sensor
* 1300 mAh battery
* BlackBerry OS 6.1
* OpenGL ES
* 14.6mm thin
The Torch 2 is expected to launch with the brand new Blackberry OS 7 software which was announced by RIM a short while back. Along with the ramped up specs, the Torch 2 should be a much faster flagship smartphone in the Blackberry range.
