Acer has officially revealed their first Windows Phone handset at the Computex event today.
Microsoft announced Acer as a new hardware partner for Windows Phone during their announcement of the new Mango OS last week.
Dubbed the Acer W4, it will run the brand new Windows Phone 7 Mango operating system. The W4 follows Microsoft’s hardware regulations, and includes a 1GHz processor, 8GB onboard storage and a 5MP camera.
The full specifications for the Acer W4 are as follows:
- 3.6-inch WVGA
- Screen Resolution: 480×800
- 5mp Camera with auto-focus
- HSPA 850/1900 or 900/2100 /GSM quad band 850/900/ 1800/ 1900 MHz Support
- Qualcomm MSM8255 running at 1GHz
- Wifi, Bluetooth 2.1
- DLNA Support (DMC)
- Windows Phone Mango
- 8GB Storage
We think the W4 looks like a tidy handset, and providing it isn’t skinned with any sort of Acer UI, it could be a welcome addition to the WP7 family. What do you think?
