French tablet and mp3 player kings Archos have sent out invites to a special event they’re hosting in Paris this month, and if our French is correct we’re going to be seeing some new Android Honeycomb tablets announced.
The invite reads something like “On June 23rd at 6:30PM, Henri Crohas (that’s the founder of Archos) will announce the 3rd generation of Android tablets from Archos”.
If you take a look at the little green Android man in the event invite, you’ll see a bee flying around him. That bee is actually the logo for Android Honeycomb, Google’s tablet-specific operating system which can be found on the likes of the Motorola Xoom and the Asus Eee Pad Transformer.
Archos were one of the first companies to release Android-based tablets, way back when the first version of Android (1.5) was released by Google. They released the first version of the Archos 7 Home Tablet series, preloaded with Android v1.5 back in May of 2010.
Previous tablets from Archos have hit the sweet spot with Android fans on a tighter budget, with the Archos 5 Internet Tablet offering Android 2.1 functionality, 250GB hard drive and more for under £250.
We’re looking forward to seeing some good quality Honeycomb tablets from Archos which offer a more wallet-friendly pricing, are you? Let us know your thoughts on an Archos Honeycomb tablet via Twitter.
