Gadget Helpline Presents: The Worlds 1st Gadget Olympics

The build up to the London 2012 Olympics may be generating huge excitement but for the less athletically blessed among us, the sight of people in sports kit lining up on a track is likely to dredge up memories of coming last in school sports day races.

But for those whose talents lay elsewhere, the glory of Olympic victory need not be just a distant dream. Starting next week the UK’s leading provider of impartial gadget help and advice, GadgetHelpline.com, is launching the Gadget Olympics to celebrate the Usain Bolts and Jessica Ennis’ of gadget installation with a series of special events.

The four competition events for iPhone and Android phone users are modelled on the 100m sprint and marathon events, and have been devised by GadgetHelpline.com’s highly skilled and knowledgeable gadget experts. The company are determined to celebrate excellence within the world of gadgets and prove that the initials in Team GB could just as easily stand for ‘Team Gadget Boffins.’

“Our three GadgetHelpline.com Gadget Olympics events test competitors’ gadget dexterity, and all you have to do is send us a film of yourself or a friend or family member doing one of our three challenges outlined on our blog such as the 100m – which is downloading an app as fast as you can – or the Marathon which involves doing several gadget tasks one after the other,” says GadgetHelpline.com founder Crispin Thomas.

“We’re anticipating entrants from around the world, and contestants who can beat our staff members’ super fast times will win Gadget Olympics medals, some wonderful gadget prizes and the acclaim of the gadget community,” adds Crispin.

“Running the 100m in 9.58 seconds is some achievement but if a young kid out there or even their father has the lightning fast reflexes needed to solve gadget problems at world record speeds then we at GadgetHelpline.com believe that should be celebrated too.”
