It’s all very well having the latest iPad 2 or Motorola Xoom tablets, but you find yourself hiding them away from the outdoors and away from any chance of damage. Panasonic have the solution; a super tough Android tablet.
Unveiled today at the InfoComm event stateside, the PanasonicToughbook Slate is a 10.1-inch Android tablet with attitude. It’s ready to withstand the elements and won’t break too easily, thanks to its tough outer casing.
Joining Panasonic’s existing range of Toughbook notebooks, the Toughbook Slate is geared towards government personnel, field forces, security conscious IT managers and construction environments. Or even for accident-prone clumsy people who are likely to drop their tablet devices a few times!
Thanks to its high brightness screen, the Toughbook Slate can be viewed in almost any environment and is perfect for use outdoors. Unlike the iPad 2 and other tablets, you won’t get a glare from the screen or struggle to see an image.
We’re still unsure as to what version of Android the Slate will use, but we do know that it has a 10.1-inch multi-touch XGA screen and packs in satellite-based GPS, a full-shift battery life, professional-grade accessories, Wi-Fi and optional 3G/4G connectivity.
There’s also an active stylus bundled in which is designed to help users gain customer signatures on the tablet screen quickly and easily.
