Apple launches new Time Capsule range

Rumours surrounding a new Apple Time Capsule range have today been proven true, with a snapshot coming from the Apple website just hours before the announcement is expected to go live.

The new and refreshed line of Time Capsule devices will be announced and available to buy from Apple’s web store later on today. Amongst the refreshed models is a brand new device, sporting an enormous 3TB of storage space.

Both the 2TB and 3TB models will feature Wi-Fi b/g/n compatibility, as with the previous range of Time Capsules. Simultaneous dual-band operation is also supported, meaning that the device will use both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi spectrums at the same time, meaning all connected devices will work smoothly with no interruptions or problems. Both devices are also compatible with both Mac and Windows operating systems.

According to MacStories, Apple’s product page for the new devices shows prices to begin at $299 (presumably £299 GBP too, knowing Apple).

In case you’re not familiar with Apple’s Time Capsule products, they’re wireless hard drives which allow you to create easy backups of your Mac or PC, without the need for cables. You can also plug a printer in to your Time Capsule and print documents from your stored data wirelessly.

From what we’ve heard, Apple are hard at work refreshing their web stores, so we should see the new Time Capsule products online in the next few hours.

UPDATE! Apple have now added the new 2TB and 3TB Time Capsules to their webstore, priced at £249.99 and £399.99 respectively!
