Archos has revealed its dual-core 80 G9 and 101 G9 Android 3.1 tablets – boostfully declaring the range to be the “industry’s fastest tablets”.
Unveiled at the London breifing yesterday, the two new 10.1″ slabs will by released later this year and will bring a slashed price alternative to a market taken over by popular yet pricey choices such as Motorola Xoom and Apple iPad 2 – which Archos itself will confess are dominant in the industry.
Touting its latest tablet range as “iPad killers” both the Archos 80 G9 and 101 G9 models have a familiar look but come riding in on 1.5GHz ARM Cortex dual-core processors with 1024 x 766p display and HDMI output – inbuild 3G has been passed by for the addtion of a supporting slot for a 3G dongle.
These are features to rival the best of them – and Archos claim at a 50% faster. The tablets will include Android 3.1 Honeycomb and Archos that developing its first Android tablet in 2009, the company claims have gained the advantage in producing more cost-effective “methods”.
We’re looking at September releases, with the Archos 101 G9 pricing up at £279 and 80 G9 at £199 – Bargain!
