Samsung’s Galaxy S2 is top dog once again in the UK phone charts as it has outsold the iPhone 4 for the second month running.
Samsung’s blower is the top selling Android phone at the moment and is starting to show that Google’s Android is becoming a force to be reckoned with and is closing the gap on Apple every month.
Having beaten the iPhone 4 to become the UK’s most popular handset last month it has cemented itself as the main competition to Apple’s previous dominance with the iPhone 4.
It’s not all doom and gloom for Apple as the iPhone 4 is still the second top selling phone but is the only non-Android phone in the top 10.
The other winners from this months top selling phones is HTC and their own 1.2Ghz dual-core handset, the Sensation, which has now reached the top three and it’s even better news for HTC as they are currently taking five of the remaining seven top 10 spots.
“The powerful and flexible Samsung Galaxy S II remains on top as networks and retailers continue to offer a number of strong mobile deals,” announced Ernest Doku, technology expert at uSwitch.
“Samsung can’t rest on its laurels though. The influx of feature-rich phones like the HTC EVO 3D and LG Optimus 3D, both introducing a unique glasses-free 3D viewing experience, could seriously shake things up this summer. We’re also expecting a number of new BlackBerry handsets and of course can’t ignore the enduring rumours of a fifth model of Apple’s iPhone on the horizon.”
Samsung’s Galaxy S II handset launched earlier this year with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display joining an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities, 1GB of RAM and a minimalist form factor.
