Nikon has just added another new prime lens to the company’s existing range of DX-format lenses.
The new AFS DX Micro NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8 lens has a minimum focusing distance of just 0.53 feet, which should allow any photographer to take impressive close-up pictures, while also being able to shoot HD video in a 1:1 reproduction ratio.
The new lens is also light, weighing only 235 grams and is small enough to easily fit in your lens bag. The natural focal length of 35mm along with the f/2.8 aperture means this lens can be used for a wide variety of photography styles, whether it be shooting close ups or for portraits.
The prime lens should be arriving in stores by the end of next month, and is expected to go on sale for $279 (around £175).
