Sony Ericsson Pro QWERTY Android phone gets a late September release!

One of Sony Ericsson’s many forthcoming handsets is the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro Android running handset that includes a full slide out QWERTY keyboard has been put back somewhat and is now not expected to get a UK release until September 2011.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro handset originally went up for Pre-Order in June which sparked speculation that the phone would be coming in the next few weeks but now Sony have placed and updated release time of late September.

The good news though is that the initial price listing of £349.99 is still the same so the handset should come in at the mid-market range of handsets.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro was announced back in January at this year’s Mobile World congress event in Barcelona along with a sister handsets the Xperia Play and the Xperia Neo (both of which have been released since then) and the handset features a slide-out four row QWERTY keyboard, 3.7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and running off the Android gingerbread 2.3 operating system.

Other features of the XPERIA Pro include the Exmor R sensor, HDMI port, DLNA, an 8GB microSD card and all of this measures in at 120x57x13.5 and weighs 140 grams.

There is now news on the reason for the delayed release but a full QWERTY keyboarded Neo-ish phone is surely going to be a good little handset.
