Sony Ericsson’s next flagship handset has shown its pretty face again, this time in a press shot leak of the very nice looking device.
The Xperia Arc was a beautiful piece of kit but it was lagging behind the times when it came to hardware – with the era of dual-core looming the Arc was never going to be the handset it could have been if it was released a year earlier.
So Sony Ericsson are stepping up their game and releasing a monster of a phone with the Xperia Duo, which is going to be clocked at a whopping 1.4GHz, giving Sony Ericsson one of the most powerfull smartphones around. If you add in the 4.5 inch qHD screen with Bravia engine, we are looking at a hell of a device here.
The chipset is rumored to be one of two different types – either the NovaThor A9500 chipset, which combines a couple of Cortex A9 cores with the Mali-400 GPU (basically the same as the Galaxy S II but clocked higher), or the Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon chipset, which is the same processor that powers the HTC Sensation.
Whichever one it is, I think my next handset of choice is going to take a little more time to be decided, especially after seeing the specs of the Sony Ericsson Duo!
