It’s been a long time coming but finally Spotify has landed stateside today, as we expected.
The music streaming service is nigh on identical to that of the European version us Brits are familiar with. There’s a free option which is by invite only and also limited to 10 listens per track and a maximum of 10 hours listening per week, as well as two tiers of paid subscriptions
Both the Premium and Unlimited packages are available priced at $4.99 and £9.99 respectively – interestingly the same value as the UK and European version, despite the exchange rate.
For $4.99 a month you’ll get the Premium package – that’s unlimited music streaming and none of those annoying adverts. If you can stretch to $9.99 per month you’ll gain mobility with your Spotify account – apps are available for iPhone and Android which allow you to take spotify on the go and stream music using Wi-Fi or 3G. With these apps you’ll also be able to create “offline playlists” which save your tracks locally for listening when you don’t have an internet connection. The unlimited listening and zero adverts also come with this package.
If you’re struggling to get your hands on one of those free invites to Spotify in the US then we have you covered. We have a limited number of invites to give away, get your hands on one and you’ll have the golden ticket to free music listening. All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning one is to retweet this very article on Twitter. Our page is @Gadget_Helpline, get retweeting!
