Orange adds new £3 per day roaming bundle

Orange UK customers rejoice! If you’re jetting abroad this holiday season then you may well be tempted to check your emails using your phone now, as Orange have introduced a reasonably priced data bundle for roaming abroad.

You’ll now be able to pay an additional £3 per day while you’re on your holidays and gain 30MB of internet browsing – a welcome change from the absurd £3.07 per MB of usage Orange previously (and technically still do) have in place. If you’re an Orange Pay Monthly customer, all you’ve got to do is call Orange for free on 150 from home or abroad and ask for an EU daily mobile internet browsing bundle.

Orange say that 30MB will cover 99.5% of customers’ needs when it comes to daily web browsing from a mobile phone and we’re inclined to agree with them. If you go over your 30MB daily allowance you’ll be charged at the regular rate of £3.07 per extra MB downloaded – ouch! However, if you don’t use any data during a 24 hour period (12am – 12pm) then you won’t be charged.

Liz Wynn, Director of In Life, Orange UK, said: “Travelling abroad is an exciting prospect for everyone and it is now easier than ever to stay connected to friends and family. Whether our customers want to upload their latest holiday snaps on Facebook or simply send an email sharing tales and adventures, many people consider internet access an integral part of any trip. For this very reason we are introducing the new daily roaming bundle and have already revised existing monthly and 30 day roaming bundles for the EU to help our Pay Monthly customers get the most out of their mobile internet while in Europe. ”

Orange joins other UK networks Vodafone, Three and T-Mobile in offering daily internet bundles for holiday makers heading to other European countries. Vodafone already offer £2 for 25MB per day whereas Orange’s partner company T-Mobile offer 20MB for £5 per day.
