The help pages within the Google+ social network have what we’ve been itching to know for a while now; Google+ Games are coming.
When you head to the Help Articles section of Google+ and look at the Details subsection, you’ll see at the bottom of the page:”If you’re looking for updates shared from games, check out your Games stream”
So it looks as though Google will be implementing a Games Stream into their new Social Network. This stream will presumably stay separate to your regular stream but act in a similar way, pulling in results, news and achievements from those in your circles who play Google+ Games.
We’re unsure at present which games or which type of games will be coming to Google+. Google recently became an investor in online games company Zynga, who are responsible for many of the games you’ll find on Facebook. However, Facebook practically own Zynga so we can’t see Google having enough leverage to take games away from the original Social Network.
Google could, however, use their huge Android Market to port some of the more popular games to the social network. They could even use the Games Stream to link in with Android gaming and provide leaderboards, scores and awards, sort of like OpenFeint does for iPhone games.
What would you like to see from a Google+ games service? We want to see the addictive Nexus Contraptions game on there! Let us know what Google could do to make Google+ games good by posting a comment below or tweeting us.
