Nintendo 3DS removed from Amazon.com – Gaming gadget “Under Review” from US site

US online retail market Amazon.com has withdrawn sales of Nintendo’s 3DS and placed the gaming gadget “Under Review”.

A note replaces Amazon’s usual item description for the 3DS: “While this item is available from other marketplace sellers on this page, it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it’s described here. (Thanks for the tip!) We’re working to fix the problem as quickly as possible.”

This alert only concerns the stock which is sold by Amazon itself, and not third party sellers, who are still able to sell and ship. The reports we’re getting suggests that this may be in relation to the way the handheld console is being shipped from Amazon in the US who has had a number of previous complaints about minor but noticeable damage to the 3DS since shipping began back in March.

Amazon buyers in the UK looking to get their hands on a handheld 3DS appear to be unaffected by the issues troubling the retailer’s overseas counterpart.
