HTC Omega: Windows Phone handset specs leak out

Ready for some Mango? HTC clearly is, as details of its next Windows Phone 7 handset have leaked and it looks set to be primed for the ‘Mango’ software update coming to the platform this Autumn.

The HTC Omega doesn’t exist in visual form yet (pictured above is the HTC 7 Pro), but specs of the Windows Phone beauty have just leaked online. According to the sources, the phone will boast a 3.8-inch, 800×480 screen; an 8-Megapixel camera capable of recording video in 720p HD, as well as 16GB of storage and a 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor beating underneath.

These specs won’t exactly blow the current breed of dual-core smartphones out of the water, but the Omega should follow on nicely from the excellent HTC Mozart. When the Mango update lands, Windows Phone 7 should be brought more in line with both Android and iOS in terms of features – with additions such as multi-tasking.
