Nokia’s N9 handset may have gotten a UK release date. That’s if in fact we can relate our scheduling to the same as Russia and Kazakhstan – who are stating that their MeeGo-based mobiles are on the way on August 19th.
It was said that we wouldn’t get to see the colourful Nokia N9 in the UK, which breaks the normal routine of frankly bland looking handsets, and was previewed last month. Packing the Linux-based MeeGo OS as standard the N9 sports a multi-touch 3.9” AMOLED display, ARM Cortex-A8 1GHz processor as well as front-facing VGA camera and 8MP rear shooter with 720p HD video recording, Bluetooth and NFC capability (Near Field Communications).
Nokia has given no notification in regards to a UK shipping date, but pre-dating its Windows Phone 7 efforts, the N9 release date has been leaked to the Eastern European countries and it’s presumed that the UK will be included in handset’s regional public launch.
