Windows Phone Mango has taken a giant step closer to being available in stores! Microsoft announced via it’s blog that the official code for Mango has been released to smartphone manufacturers.
This means that the smartphone manufacturers planning to use Windows Phone Mango on their forthcoming phones will be able to load the final “customer ready” software onto their handsets and give it a thorough testing.
New hardware partners ZTE, Fujitsu and Acer will be releasing Mango smartphones this autumn and will be testing the finished software on their devices before they go on sale. Existing hardware partners LG, HTC and Samsung will also be carrying out tests along with mobile networks to ensure that there are no network-related issues with the software.
Windows Phone Mango is the first major update to Microsoft’s new smartphone operating system, otherwise known as Windows Phone 7.5. It was announced back in May of this year along with new hardware partners ZTE, Fujitsu and Acer. Fujitsu will be releasing the first official smartphone to use Windows Phone Mango in Japan, and you can check out the waterproof beauty here.
