As the iPhone 5 rumour mill rumbles on, a new sources claims that the release date has shifted from the proposed October to September, in order for Apple to capitalise on sales in the long run up until Christmas. The proof? a report from the Guardian claims to have a source who knows that the iPhone 5 is being sent to mobile networks for testing.
According to the whistle-blower, the iPhone 5 has been sent to carriers so that they can ensure that the handset works on their specific SIM cards. The security around the delivery has been so tight, says the source, that each phone is being wrapped in a protective case, then boxed and then wrapped up to ensure secrecy.
If this rumour is to be believed, it means that the iPhone 5 is now well within reach. If the handset is in fact sitting in the labs of the major mobile networks, it looks as though we could be able to get our hands on the device next month.
