Amazon.co.uk has gone live with the pre-orders for Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, just hours before big bro goes on sale in the United Kingdom!
Not one to hang around, the online retailer has moved straight on from promoting the Galaxy Tab 10.1 onto the smaller but more-than-capable 8.9” model (in white) with a release date of August 11th.
Small in stature perhaps, but big in price – the asking price of the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is £605 (whereas larger sibling can reach up to £900.
Amazon’s German outlet slipped out a release date and pre-order price not so long ago and suggested the tablet be available for €606.50 which would equate to less than £530 for the little iPad2 challenger.
Packing 1GHz dual-core processor, the Android-based tablet features aforementioned 8.9” display with 1280×800 resolution, front-facing 2MP camera as well as 3MP video rear-shooter with 720P output. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and USB connectivity come within the slate’s 8.6mm sleek body. The tablet was first official announced and touted as the World’s Slimmest Tablet back at CTIA 2011.
