Samsung Galaxy S5 to get Android 5.0 Lollipop update soon?

With Android 5.0 Lollipop announced last month in full, the race is now on for all current generation handsets to upgrade to the latest Android software as soon as possible, and with HTC, Moto and Sony all throwing some dates about,  Samsung have reportedly confirmed when the 5.0 Software will be landing on its flagship Galaxy S5 handsets.

According to SamMobile, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in December as a little Christmas gift for all the Samsung fans out there.

The new OS will bring features like a more fluid user interface with enhanced 3D effects, greater control over notifications, support for 64-bit hardware and increased battery life, plus a new ‘Ambient display’ feature, which sees a device wake from sleep when it is picked up, has recently been reported and leaked by a developer.

The Galaxy S5 will get Android 5.0 in December?

Google Will have first dibs on the software with its Google Nexus 6 handsets, with the older Nexus 5 getting the OS a few weeks following from the 6’s release, but Samsung, who are not known for speedy updates, look set to change their ways and get the OS out ASAP.

Following on from the S5 getting Lollipop, we would expect that the S5 Prime and Mini would also be seeing the update soon afterwards.

Still, Samsung has yet to officially confirm the December roll-out date for Android Lollipop on Galaxy S5 device, so it could all just be a dream…

  1. Samsung is no longer paying too much attention on the specs. They used to want their products to have amazing numbers, but this time, we see no 2K screen and no 64 bit chip like the rumor has it.What the Korean manufacturer did was devoting their energy to the useful features of the phones like the camera, the wire speed, the health apps, etc.
