Android Wear fans will be pleased to hear that LG’s stunning G Watch R is now available on both sides of the pond. Originally only being available in the US, the device still isn’t available yet from Google Play, but Amazon.co.uk is now offering it with next-day delivery (Prime subscriber) for £225.
At £70 more than the original LG G Watch, you’ll find yourself with a much more attractive device, as well as some extra features. The G Watch R is made out of stainless steel, and it comes with a leather strap as standard.
This is LG’s challenge to the very well-received Moto 360, LG have one thing here that the Moto couldn’t quite do; it is the “world’s first full circle” screen. Whereas the moto has a small black bezel at the bottom of its display.
Spec wise the G Watch R is packing a P-OLED screen, it is water-resistant, has a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 4GB of internal memory, 512MB of RAM, and a 410mAh battery. It also has a built-in heart rate monitor, unlike the original G Watch.

LG President and CEO, Dr. Jong-Seek Park said that the original G watch was made to be a “no-nonsense, pure Android Wear device,” the G Watch R was designed “with a more aesthetic eye,” something which they have definitely achieved.
I’m not a huge fan of Smart watches, I’m a huge fan of watches though, so I’m looking at this with the opinion that a watch should be simple and eye-catching not a computer on my wrist. I have to admit it’s a nice watch, it could easily pass as an attractive analogue watch at first glance and for the price you’d be pushed to find an analogue watch that looks this good.
