GTA V Heists Release Trailer, Early 2015 Release Confirmed

I would like to be writing an article telling you all that Heists have a confirmed release date and they are finally going to be released… but I can’t, sorry, I can however say we finally have an idea on when and a TRAILER! You heard me heist missions have finally been revealed for Grand Theft Auto Online. It’s been so long now I’d pretty much given up hope and forgotten about them, it’s still not concrete and I have no idea if it will be before or after the PCs January release.

AS I’m sure you are all aware GTA 5’s online mode didn’t previously have heists and we were told many times they would be released sometime after the initial game release. As of “early 2015,” though, it will, and the above trailer confirms that they’re coming to the PC version as well.

IGN got to interview the Rockstar team about what the feature will entail, and as they rightly should have asked why it took so damn long for the co-op heist missions.

“They just turned out to be a lot more difficult than we originally thought,” said GTA Online producer Imran Sarwar. “One of the challenges is that unlike a heist in Story Mode, every player needs to feel central to the action at all times, and that’s much more challenging than it appears” Basically in the singleplayer game, players can switch between characters to ensure they’re always at the centre. This wasn’t possible in online play. They used the example of a getaway driver, what does he do whilst the crew complete the heist sit in his car? Personally I would have no problem with heists playing out like that but I see there point.

The co-op heists will be four player multi-segment missions, and, according to Sarwar, will be organised by a designated “heist leader” among the group, “some missions have all players working as one unit, some require players to take on specific tasks like hacking or crowd control, while others require players to split into smaller teams to complete separate high value objectives.”

PC release will happen on 27 January so as long as we get heist on or before that date I will be happy.
