80’s popular entertainment duo and panto faves Keith Harris and Orville the Duck make a truly bizarre but wonderful return to the public eye in a new rap video endorsing the freedom of SIM-only mobiles and battery chickens!
The music video entitled “The CONtract” features K-Orville, the streetwise hip-hop alias of the classic comic pairing. In a grimy urban clip Keith appears in hoody and “wife-beater” vest as he raps on how the freedom of SIM-only contract-free mobile using through the GiffGaff network is dope, and that contracted tariffs are akin to caged hens, which like green duckling Orville, who duets on the song’s chorus, are unable to fly. The hit song encourages phone owners to subscribe to a free GiffGaff SIM and that for every card ordered via Facebook the independent network will rehome a battery bird in support of Wood Green, The Animals Charity.
The catchy tune is the first single from Keith Harris and Orville in almost 30 years, the last time they were heard was in the hit tune “Orville’s Song” aka “I Wish I Could Fly” which reached a respectable number 4 in the British pop charts in January 1983 – long before downloads were included in the countdown.
Unfortunately Cuddles the Monkey does not appear in the video for “The CONtract”. It’s believes his spending a number of years in the joint for hate crimes against ducks..
