MWC 2012: ZTE Tablets – Quad-core PF100 & T98 (with Android ICS) and Dual-core V96 & V9S (with Android Gingerbread)

Chinese mobile-maker ZTE has bombed the Mobile World Congress with announcement of a huge selection of new “high-end” gadgets including a number of Android smartphones, a few tablets and its latest push into the Windows Phone Market. In our second article covering ZTE’s offerings at Barcelona the Gadget Helpline takes a look at the tablets.

Without a doubt the stars of the ZTE’s line-up announcement was the quad-core duo – the PF100 and T98. The former packs the 1.5GHz NVIDIA T30S processor with Google’s newest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as OS of choice. The PF100 features the usual 10.1” display size, with WXGA resolution and there’s 1GB of onboard RAM and 16GB of storage to play with – no to forget a respectable 5-megapixel camera. The T98 keeps up appearances with the same spectacular spec, but comes with a smaller powerfully pocketable 7” display.

By no means less worthy, a couple of dual-cores have also surfaced and the MWC has welcomed the ZTE V96 and ZTE V9S. These model delivering double-barrel processing prowess with very the V96 boasting an impressive 1.7GHz Qualcomm CPU and the V9S delivering a respectable 1.2GHz and both, just like their quad-core superiors, come with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and 5-megapixel shooter. This pair will be bundled with current Android standard, 2.3 Gingerbread, with an upgrade expected to follow shortly after release – which along with pricing is at present TBC.
