With all this talk of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 – which deploys on November 15th – the other sibling in the popular shooter franchise has been a little over looked lately, so today Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 gets to share a bit of the spotlight as Xbox 360 gamers get news of a brand new DLC package coming today.
It’s been six months since Activision released COD:MW3 and we’ve seen a lot of content surface in that time, much of this supported by the Elite premium service for the Microsoft console which has generously offered up new maps and missions on a regular basis to ammo-heads willing to pay a subscription to gain these exclusive downloadable advantages. Developers of the game Infinity Ward has spoken about the latest DLC through the Twitter presence of company Executive Producer Mark Rubin.
Rubin reveals that the upcoming drop will include a new Spec Ops mission called ‘Arctic Recon’ and three more Faceoff maps entitled ‘Vortex’, ‘U-Turn’ and ‘Intersection’ – but there’s no information on what these new additions might involve. We’d imagine ‘Artic Recon’ will involve some kind of reconnaissance in the arctic – Just a hunch.
No news for Playstation 3 or Windows PC Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players at the moment but generally these DLC packages do follow a short time later. The Gadget Helpline will follow this and all future Call of Duty news and announcements and keep you briefed!
