This past weekend LG accidentally let slip a whole bunch of images and specs relating to the upcoming LG G4 smartphone when a placeholder webpage for the new flagship model was discovered prematurely.
The dedicated LG G4 minisite appeared and was hastily pulled but not before no less than twenty renders of the hardware were nabbed and shared online. The official pics that were revealed show off the premium handset from multiple angles and confirmed what the April 28th press event invite teased – that the G4 will come with the option of all metal or leather covered back casing and there will be a number of colour choices available for each.
The real leather back covers for the LG G4 come in stylish black and brown and some further afield colours including a baby blue and bright yellow and the metallic option comes in black, white and gold with an apparent carbon fibre texturing. We also get a glimpse of the LG Quick Circle case in use too offering protection but access to some of the LG G4’s key functions as it did with last year’s G3.Unfortunately no prices were obtained in the leak but we’d imagine the metal will be for the standard model G4 and the leather back will be reserved for a pricier variant and it’s quite likely the backs will be interchangeable and sold separately for post-sale personalisation late along the line.
Moving on to the technical specifications, the site leak now confirms that the LG G4 will come with 5.5-inch quad HD touchscreen display which fills much of the front surface thanks to a narrow bezel and the top of the range handset will be equipped with 16-megapixel rear camera which uses an f/1.8 aperture, infrared colour spectrum analyser and laser autofocus. A 3,000mAh battery will be removable and the phone will feature microSD card slot allowing versatile storage options, rather than the fixed storage now favoured by some other mobile makers on their flagships. The official launch for the LG G4 is April 28th where it will be announced in the capitals of six countries including London, New York and Paris. Also See: LG G3 Flagship Successor (G4) Will Be Unveiled on April 28
