With a design based on luxury cars and coming wired for sound, ZTE today revealed its brand new flagship smartphone – the AXON 7.
Featuring a choice of stylish Ion Gold or Quartz Grey casing, the AXON 7 follows the original AXON (yes, despite the name there has been only one predecessor). It looks sleek and fashionable with a real premium appearance to it and specs that aren’t too shabby either.
It features a 5.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with a sharp 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor which is clocked as running at 2.15GHz during benchmark tests. There are two models, one being the standard including 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage, and a premium coming with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage – both with micro SD support for a further 128GB. It’s possible to use dual SIMs on both models as well and each comes with an OS based on Android 6.0.
The AXON 7 handset also comes with 20-megapixel main camera and 8-megapixel rear camera with smart facial beautification, which adds to the fashion factor of this trendy smartphone and makes for stunning selfies. Time between charges is generously offered by a 3250mAh battery that replenishes the phone by half within 30 minutes on ZTE’s Quick Charge base.As mentioned, the smartphone is geared up for sound and has a Dolby Atmos Surround Sound, dual Hi-Fi chipset and dual speaker, meaning the handset audio is of a high quality and decent volume and is complete with 3.5mm headphone socket for personal listening.
Other noteworthy features include fingerprint unlocking, NFC connectivity and Force Touch, meaning the screen can detect pressure (and is sadly not something to do with Star Wars.)
To add the prestige of the new top model from ZTE it’s even been officially backed by Chinese concert pianist Lang Lang – we don’t know either, but it seems he’s kind of a big deal in his home country!
