One of our favourite smartphone brands – OnePlus, has announced an update to its own mobile operating system for the flagship model OnePlus 3.
OxygenOS 3.2.6 has begun rolling out as a major firmware update which will address a number of noted issues. It’s quite an extensive list which covers voice calling, display and camera quality improvements as well as combatting some battery concerns identified by the maker.
- Optimized voice call quality of some IM applications.
- Improved adaptive brightness performance
- Improved camera quality
– Fixed occasional green/yellow issue
– Optimized white balance
– Improved 1080p video recording - Addressed some bluetooth connection problems for vehicles
- Allows third party application to modify ringtone
- Optimized battery consumption when scrolling
- Optimized touch accuracy when playing games
- Added DozeMode switch in Developer options
- Added PocketMode switch in Display settings
OnePlus explains that the firmware will be deployed gradually over the air (OTA) into all supported regions, though some may take longer than others so patience is advised and it’s suggested that rooted devices may not be able to take on the firmware unless un-rooted and loaded with official software beforehand. We’ve not got it yet but will keep an eye on our OnePlus 3 handset here at the Gadget Helpline to update our UK readers when OxygenOS 3.2.6 becomes available here.
As a worthy alternative to the ‘big brand’ names, OnePlus 3 is a premium handset that carries respectable specs including Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU, Adreno 530 GPU, 6GB RAM and 64GB storage and for £329 – it won’t blow your budget like other market leaders.
