Google’s latest version of its Android operating system, Ice Cream Sandwich is one of the most sought after bits of software coming in the next few months, and man don’t we want to see, hear, and touch anything that is lightly relating to the secretive OS release.
The good news is that the people over at RootzWiki and Android Police have managed to get themselves a copy of the OS and have released a few juicy morsels and a couple of heavily blanked out images.
The reason that Ice Cream Sandwich is kept such a secret is generally because it is set to offer a revamped user interface which is the first major change since Androids Éclair. The first noticeable feature is the App and icon spacing throughout the device as more and more phones seem to be getting bigger it appears that Ice Cream Sandwich is going for a more spaced out look.
The area that has had the biggest change would appear to be the status bar at the top of the screen where the icons have been made bigger and clearer. It would also seem that the app area has had a makeover with a new Apps and Widgets tabs top flick between your download’s and what appears to be a direct link to the Android market on the App screen.
Now with all of these leaks they could be a very good programmer making a mocker up of the device but all of the images seem to be pointing towards this being real shots of the latest Android operating system.
