That didn’t take long. Presumably as a response to some of the more distraught upgrader complaints, Apple has hurried out an update to its Lion operating system, which takes the OS to version 10.7.1.
The update, available as a free, light-wieght 17.4MB download to anyone who’s already on Lion, aims to bring older macs up to speed as well as smooth over a few of the cracks that may have appeared.
Apple says: “The 10.7.1 update is recommended for all users running OS X Lion and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability and compatibility of your Mac.” These fixes include more reliable WiFi, and audio video fixes in both Safari and when connected to an external monitor.
