It looks as though HP is in the business of quiet, subtle product announcements, as after they released the Pre 3 smartphone with minimal fanfare today, they’ve gone and put a 64GB TouchPad tablet on their French website.
The new 64GB TouchPad also boasts an upgraded processor – 1.5Ghz Dual-Core to be precise – which is a 0.3GHz bump from the 16 and 32GB models currently on sale in Europe and the U.S. All other specifications appear to be identical to the lower storage models.
HP appears to have snuck the advert you’ll see above onto their French website without really telling anyone. We also see that the 64GB model is available in “blanc lacquer”, which if our French is accurate translates to lacquer white – or gloss white.
The faster, whiter, bigger storage TouchPad will go on sale for €599 according to HP’s French website, with Wi-Fi only on board. Compare that to the Wi-Fi only 64GB iPad 2 which is €693 and you’ve got yourself a fair bargain!
We’ll bring you more on the surprise 64GB TouchPad as we get it. We’re expecting to see it appear on HP’s UK website shortly.
