As expected, Sony has today officially launched the new NEX-7 all-in-one compact digital camera with interchangeable lens.
The NEX-7 is the next in line to the popular NEX-5 and features an impressive 24.3MP EXMOR APS HD CMOS sensor, which also features the world’s fastest shutter release of just 0.02 seconds, along with a super quick and responsive autofocus motor. The NEX-7 also claims the world’s fastest burst shooting speed of any mirror-less interchangeable lens camera at 10fps.
Sony’s NEX-7 also features a high-resolution XGA OLED Tru-Finder (view finder) which allows for precision framing and focusing along with a 3.0-inch Xtra Fine LCD which can be angled for viewing your scene in various positions before taking the image, the NEX-7 also has a built-in flash as well. Users will also be able to capture smooth AVCHD Full HD video with high quality stereo sound, the camera also supports version 2.0 of the AVCHD specification allowing users to select 50p or 25p frames rates for impressively smooth videos.
One feature that should please potential users is the ability to have manual control over the focus when shooting video, across all manual controls (PASM). The NEX-7 also has revised circuitry that lowers noise levels when shooting quiet scenes as well.
